Starting the Rescue Mission at Hogwarts
To begin the quest line, players must speak with Adelaide Oakes in the Transfiguration Courtyard within the Hogwarts castle grounds. She expresses deep concern over her uncle Rowland, a metal trader who has gone missing after business interactions with goblin loyalists. Tracking his last known position directs players toward an abandoned campsite located in the North Hogwarts Region.
Upon arriving at the campsite, players face a group of hostile goblins occupying the area. Defeating these enemies reveals Rowland's journal along with a vague hand-drawn map resting near a table. Gathering these items is necessary to unlock the next phase of the investigation.
Deciphering Rowland Oakes Map Location
Unlike standard quest markers that highlight exact coordinates, Rowland's map features stylized landmarks requiring careful observation. The sketch displays a winding river, distinct rock formations, and a ruined fortress situated to the southwest. Following the river flowing west leads directly toward the Korrow Ruins Floo Flame location.
Traveling southwest along the river leads players directly to a heavily guarded goblin outpost. Approaching this stronghold confirms that players have successfully followed the trail indicated on the drawn map. Players can either engage the guards in combat or use disillusionment spells to slip past unseen.
Navigating Korrow Ruins and Infiltrating the Cellar
Entering the interior dungeon of Korrow Ruins brings players into a multi-level fortress filled with Ranrok loyalists. Following the central path leads downward to a dungeon area where Rowland Oakes is held behind a locked heavy metal door. Speaking to him through the cell door reveals that he cannot escape without his confiscated wand.
To access the inner chamber where the wand is stored, players must ignite a massive boiler mechanism on the upper walkway using a fire spell like Incendio or Confringo. Activating the boiler opens a large round metal door on the lower level, granting entry to a room guarded by powerful goblins.
